History of A Night to Shine
Night to Shine was started by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2014, with a vision to work with churches around the country to provide an incredible prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.
The first year saw 44 churches in 26 states and 2 countries work together to show people with special needs that their life matters, that God has a plan for them, and to celebrate life and to change people's perspectives. The movement has grown every year since then.
Last February, 375 churches in 11 countries, came together on one night to celebrate 75,000 honored guests with special needs. This unforgettable prom night experience changed Valentine’s Day weekend from simply a celebration of love, to a celebration of God’s love, people with special needs and the value of life.
This year we will continue expanding this ministry into a worldwide movement that allows people with special needs to shine, churches to shine, volunteers to shine, and most importantly, Christ to shine. So far, there are over 500 host churches planning their own Night to Shine event.

Once inside, attendees receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, a catered dinner, prom favors for each honored attendee, and, of course, dancing!
